Trousers is a product group by Levi's for men and women.
Trousers are an item of clothing that covers the hip and legs of the human body. Different from cloth extending across both legs as in robes, skirts, and dresses, trousers cover the two legs separately.
The product group includes trousers in different styles which are made from different materials. Only jeans, which are trousers of a specific style and are made from denim, form a product group of their own. Levi Strauss & Co. introduced the Dockers brand in 1986 which focusses on chino trousers, but they still are available under the Levi's brand, too.
Trousers generally extend from the waist to the ankle and have long trouser legs covering the entire human leg. Trousers having short trouser legs that only cover the upper part of the human leg are included in the separate product group shorts.
In American English, the term "pants" is generally used for trousers, while in British English, pants refers to underwear.
